Hailing from Southern New Jersey, Matt DeAngelis is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter who’s been honing his musical craft since he was just eight. In a world riddled with strife and negativity, he aims to spread a positive outlook and bring light to the darkness with his music.
Having been diagnosed with an OCD and anxiety disorder from an early age, he’s learned to internalise the world around him and use his ability to turn the negative into a positive as a guiding force in his songwriting. Paired with his advocacy for mental health, he’s also a passionate climate activist that sees the artist spread awareness of the serious issue of climate change and the preservation of our planet.
With his music, he offers a classic rock sound, perfectly captured in his new EP, titled World I’m Comin’ For You. Several years in the works, his latest release features legendary musicians including Liberty DeVitto and Richie Cannata, members of Billy Joel’s original band.
Across the five original compositions, Matt DeAngelis offers the best of his experienced songwriting talent. Melodically-focused and rhythmic throughout, on Listen to World I’m Comin’ For You below he delivers his own unique take on the pop rock style full of soulful vocal work and soaring lead guitar lines.
