New Jersey native Da Poloman was first noticed as a poet with the assistance from Nequia T. Nelson, and Kirea O. McIntosh. The artist’s work explored the relationship between postmodern discourse and unwanted gifts. With the influences as diverse as Kierkegaard and L Ron Hubbard, new variations are manufactured from both explicit and implicit layers.
Ever since an adolescent, Da Poloman was fascinated by the traditional understanding of “the moment”. What starts out as hope soon becomes manipulated into a carnival of defeat, leaving only a sense of dread and the dawn of a new understanding. As temporal replicas become frozen through studious and academic practice, the viewer is left with a tribute to the darkness of our culture in a peaceful positive manner.
The American wordsmith brings us his latest offering with the track ‘Shawtys Pretty’, a widescreen soulful piece pairing laid back beats with a smooth vocal offering delivered with a perfectly swung rhythm.Â
