Empaths, the musical duo from London, formed of Ryan Fitzgerald (also known as DJ/Producer Fitzo) and singer-songwriter Isabel Higuero first came together after being aired on the same BBC Introducing show back in June 2018
Having released two singles in 2018, ‘Be Mine’ and ‘Building Blocks’ (both also aired on BBC Introducing), the visionary pair decided that being featured artists wasn’t enough. They’ve just released their debut album EVOLVE and have linked up with electronic and ambient music producer hailing from rural Berkshire Subsets to remix the track ‘Wait For Me’.
Subset’s music blends electronic and traditional instruments to create chilled and emotive soundscapes that draw influences from deep house, future garage, drum and bass, and many other genres. Subset delivers a deeply atmospheric rework of the original sound full of rhythm and driving bass work.
2019 was the birth of their brand Empaths, cementing themselves as a musical duo. Empaths have since combined uplifting synthesised dance anthems, entwined with pop, emotional vocals that leaves the listener hungry for more. Both artists have been on the scene for some time now, Ryan having supported alongside some well-known dance acts such as Illenium, Seven Lions, Gemini and many more. Performed at renowned venues such as Electric Brixton, KOKO, The Coronet amongst others. Isabel has currently over 8 million plays online, thanks to collaborations with several producers such as Droptek, Tut Tut Child, Culprate and has released on labels such as Monstercat, Extreme Music and Munix Music.
Since September 2019, the prospering pair have released 4 singles with their debut single Moving On, featured on several playlists one of which was Enter Shikari frontman, Rou Reynolds Spotify playlist Rou’s Release Radar and more recently the Telomic remix of their track ‘Hope (Rise Up) being featured on the official ‘Massive Drum & Bass’ Spotify playlist, clocking up almost 100,000 streams!
