A sonic alchemist, Murge weaves the eclectic and the electric to create dancefloor-centric beats that fill the space and lift the crowd. Inspired by travels through eastern Spain, Here We All Are is a cohesive collection of downtempo tracks, filled with fresh, earthy bass and neoteric instrumentals.Unorthodox sounds intertwine to create an expansive aural journey; one of connection and elevation.
Pulling from across a variety of genres, Murgeâs influences are wide ranging and free flowing; from the Cosmic era of disco to psychedelic jazz, from Latin rhythms fused with the elasticity and inclusiveness of world-inspired music to field recordings of ambient samples, captured during his own global travels.
Manchester based producer Frameworks recently released with his third studio album Imagine Gold on LOCI Records. Sighting the album as a reflection of his taste rather than his skill, this album delivers a diversely influenced and executed body of work that reflects growth and maturity. Understated yet intricate, the album narrates and explores the process of creativity; âThis album was about simplicity, about creating something I would listen to, ignoring the external validation I had often sought in the past to create something introspective and personalâ explains the artist.Â
Imagine Gold offers beauty and sophistication; it proudly states itâs a different record from its predecessors and it walks into the limelight offering no apologies. Analogue synths and tape saturated drums show Matthew working with different palettes and expanding on past offerings. Â
Since Tides in 2015 Frameworks has been building a steady momentum playing the North American festival circuit, performing at Coachella, Electric Forest, Lightning in a Bottle, Camp Bisco, Global Eclipse Gathering, and the 20th anniversary of Shambhala. The most recent incarnation âFrameworks liveâ takes audiences to a familiar place, giving the audience a truer representation of Matthews background and creative process.
Now the pair link up on a new release via Emancipator imprint Loci Records. A transatlantic collaboration from two rising stars in indie electronic music – Canadian native Murge, and UK based Frameworks. Showcasing the first effort from a forthcoming two track EP with the full release set to drop via Loci on June 11.
Written and produced as a direct response to last yearâs lockdown, this collaboration serves as reminder of how important venues are to our culture and growth. The release has a distinctive sound, fusing signature elements from both producers, and leans toward an organic house & dancefloor-focused theme.
Alongside the digital release of “Cusp (Edit)”, Loci Records will also be launching the pre-order for a special limited edition split single 12â vinyl. 100% of the net profits from the vinyl will be donated to NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) as well as some other donation points that support live music, music venue employees, and touring crew members.
