Almec releases new track

London-based electronic producer Alex Hall, creates music under the alias Almec. His sound is characterised by washy ambient guitars and floating synths set in cosmic rotation to driving house beats and pulsing bass lines utilising a fusion of electronic, trip-hop, world, ambient and classical sounds, creating the natural output of a wide array of influences, informed by his own heritage and signalled by his portmanteau name. 

The 2019 single release of “Obsidian” followed by the producer’s self-titled EP explored both electronic and organic textures. Those textures took on flesh and bone in the 2020 full-album release of Antiphony, marking an early milestone with singles “Cold Coffee” and “Happy Sad”. The album’s dark horse “Ribs” has also quickly become a live-set staple. 

Following the release of “Us” as a standalone single, Vita dropped in early 2021 to enthusiasm of a growing base of followers developed over summer 2020 with digitally-streamed live sets, which birthed the heartbeat-racing “Chants”. With other tracks like “Night Spooks” or the album’s bookends (“Equinox” and “Eclipse Rave”), the work features sweeping synth lines, brooding bass, and starscape vocals over a backdrop of lo-fi white noise. 

Now the producer brings us his latest work with the single “Homage”, lifted from the upcoming album Horizon. The track features an energetic rhythm that dances over brooding synths and UK Garage/2-step inspired beats. Dreamy, soulful vocal samples take you back to warm evenings in places distant in both space and time. This track pours heavy summer vibes into you that would be hard to shake even on the best dance floor.
