Vaarwell is a London-based Portuguese electro pop duo who met in high school whilst studying music production. Since their formation, Vaarwell have collaborated with Xinobi (co-writing and singing in the singles Far Away Place and Fire), received airplay and critical validation from BBC Radio1, BBC6 Music, NHK and P3 Sveriges as well as online support from Stereogum, Mahogany, Kaltblut, Hillydilly and Crack in The Road.
Now the outfit conjure intoxicating ethereal pop on new track “Consume”, lifted from the forthcoming EP Consume & Grow due to land later this month. “Consume” is Vaarwell’s third single this year and it’s a song born out of the anxieties of sisterhood, an emotional appeal from an older to a younger sister about taking the time to grow and mature, being wary of the cruelties of the outside world and the importance of being true to the core values they share.
On “Consume”, they spin their intricate indietronica sound, led by a delicate vocal delivery and a stripped back, atmospheric arrangement to create their own stamp on the style.
