Montreal-based producer CRi quickly made his mark on the local electronic scene by offering a singular sound influenced by house synths, syncopated snares, and futuristic basslines. A self-taught college dropout, CRi caught the attention of tastemakers through his first two EPs; Tell Her and Someone Else released on TOKiMONSTA’s label, Young Art.
The artist’s real breakthrough happened in 2018 with a Juno nomination for the EP Someone Else which was swiftly followed with the release of his mini EP Me and My Friends as well as his collaboration with Charlotte Cardin, “Fous n’importe où”, which revisits Daniel Bélanger’s timeless classic.
Having debuted on Anjunadeep in 2019 he quickly caught the ear of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Annie Mac with “Initial”, which was also championed on KCRW by Jason Bentley. CRi’s rise through Montreal’s bubbling scene in recent years now culminates in his debut album Juvenile.
After a whirlwind of a year, French Canadian live act and rising electronic music star returns with his first solo original release since his acclaimed debut album Juvenile at the close of 2020. CRi’s JUNO Award nominated and NAAC Electronic #1 album Juvenile, and the string of A-list LP remixes that followed from the likes of Gerd Janson, DJ BORING and Kornél Kovács, total over 14 million streams to date and awarded the young producer international praise from DJ Mag, Clash and NME.
Debuted during a spectacular live performance from La Ronde theme park in Quebec in February this year, CRi lands back on Anjunadeep with the highly sought after ID, “No Mission”; the lead single from his forthcoming three track EP To You, due this August.
With “No Mission”, CRi delivers an energetic progressive house piece driven by his trademark grooving rhythm underpinning a flurry of spaced-out vocal sample lines and a euphoric synth arrangement to build an uplifting sound.
