Dutch producer and DJ Sebastian Davidson’s music is a panoramic snapshot you want to dive into and explore. His tracks are a creative spur of the moment, clean at the core and rough around the edges. Deep house is the stylistic foundation of Davidson’s explorations, which are both musical and emotional. Getting lost and finding your way back, longing and wandering melodies, accompanied by mood setting beats, breaks and four to the floor.
His sound delivers a vast landscape, stretching out past the horizon, diverse in style, deep and mostly downtempo, but firmly rooted in progressive and melodic house. Atlas of Adventures is Davidson’s most personal project to date and comes closest to the core of what he wants to express artistically. Although technically a debut, his latest album is the culmination of years of gigs across the globe, from L.A. to Ibiza to Tokyo, experimenting and growing as a producer.
Since first joining forces to step outside their usual musical MO, Sebastian Davidson and German producer Cir:cle have further deepened their creative bond with a second long-form record to be released on Emancipator‘s Loci Records imprint.
Usually known in their separate spheres of big room dance and drum n bass respectively, it was during the unusual period of lockdowns in 2020 that the two producers worked remotely together to release an intriguing debut Odd World as a downtempo duo for the first time.
With a backdrop of a global pandemic, restrictions, fears, and uncertainties, much music went unnoticed, however this record seemed to resonate with the times and quietly amassed support from fans, radio and press, even earning multiple spins and a playlist spot on French national station FIP for over a month.
And now they return a year on with the first single of the latest record – an energetic and bass-heavy track of downtempo IDM aesthetics. Picking up perfectly where they left off it’s a beautifully balanced combination of the cerebral and the dance inducing, with soft high end sounds and driving low end providing the excitement.
Sitting nicely between the lounge and the dance floor the new track “Move” seems primed to make them even more fans, and serves as a welcome taster of the new record due later this year.
