At the intersection of slow melodic techno and psychedelic rock is where Konchord takes the listeners on a flight with soulful electronic music. Sometimes soft and tender, sometimes dark and deep, sometimes as bright as the sun, always with an inner compass for harmony and balance. With driving bass lines, atmospheres as deep as space, synth melodies for the mind to fly high, and a hint of playful weirdness, Konchord’s music can evoke feelings of travelling through far distant galaxies in a neon light disco-spaceship.
The artist, musician, producer, composer, and live act based in Berlin is quickly making waves in the scene with his unparalleled sound and genre-bending productions. Coming from a musical family, he grew up classically trained on the piano and started composing music as the bassist in a band throughout his teenage years.
Inspired by realisations about the inner-workings of the human soul, Konchord seeks to create music that will connect and uplift listeners around the world. The musical storyteller is pushing the envelope with his sound by bridging the worlds of techno and rock’n’roll, to make a well-rounded, dynamic style.
His euphoric, spacey, and contrasting productions allow for a universe of emotions to be discovered while taking a flight with Konchord. There is no doubt that he is creating his own artistic lane in the electronic scene, fuelled by his passion for music and a burning flame to express faith in peace.
For his live performances he plays with live synths, keys and vocals, while keeping the space for improvising on the fly.
Now the prolific German artist releases the mesmerising electronic rock live performance videotape “Summer”. A vastly expansive sweep through his live catalogue filmed while afloat the river Spree in Berlin, capturing the magnificent scenery of a stunning sunset behind the stars and sprinkles of the city. Captivating drone shots paired with minute-long steadiness of musical flow and energy draw you into Konchord’s world of space and sound.
It is rare you come across an independent production where musical and visual storytelling are working together beyond exceptionally well, while showcasing the birth of a new style of music that seems to be coming simultaneously from the past, the future, and the now.
Seven unreleased tracks are at the heart of this live set, which are showcasing a yet unheard sound of Konchord that might remind some of the 80s legends Depeche Mode or Pink Floyd, while maintaining a warm, modern electronic feel that bears a resemblance to the likes of David August or Moderat. Still, the uniqueness of his style can be heard throughout the set, which patiently builds up tension through long-drifting spaces that carry you to a heart-warming universe of harmonies – and you cannot help but groove to it.
A true live performance masterpiece, which takes the music, the cinematography, the storytelling and the audience to a higher level and unveils a redefined electronic rock sound of Konchord, that makes you long for more.
