Tehran-based electronic music producer Hesam Ohadi plies his sonic trade under the Idlefon alias. He began creating electronic music in 2006 after experimenting with various music styles as a drummer. Idlefon’s works can mainly be associated with the broad spectrum of modern visceral ambient, fusing muted elements of IDM and glitch into each work’s vastness.
The artist’s output has often been influenced by daily existence in the urban centre of Tehran. Ohadi has previously released Idlefon’s music on Tympanik Audio; as of 2021, Ohadi has found a home for his output with the Oakland-based emotive experimental label n5MD.
Having explored music so thoroughly as a drummer, his sound is deeply woven with an intricate rhythmic focus. Delivering a deeply atmospheric style, Idlefon crafts emotive and haunting soundscapes.
Now the artist brings us the new track “Wreck”, the second single from COLDSTREAM, his latest full-length release. “Wreck” is heavy on mood and utilises beats that become more complex, building a grittier ambience to a poignant crescendo.
