Electronic Pop from Priestess

Priestess is the alias and musical outlet of artist Kate Fleur Young. Based in the city of London, she links with producers such as James Mottershead, Jack Drewry and Oli Kilpatrick to bring their own sonic flair across the Priestess project, revolving around Kate’s creative vision.

Channeling a modern sound of electronic landscapes, Priestess captures the energy of artists such as Phoria and SOHN with nods to the originality and sonic aesthetic of Kate Bush. With a backdrop of dark beats, bass and lush electronic landscapes, she brings haunting melodies, harmonies and lyrics with a thread and feeling of hope to brighten the shade.

Priestess is the embodiment of a woman, conjuring up pictures of an ancient natural esoteric energy sprinkled with pop from the rough modern city. Intuition, strength, mystery, sensuality, vulnerability, pain. All of which have led to honouring creativity and self expression through this debut project.

After releasing a string of stellar singles such as “Distractions” and “Shelter”, she returns with her latest release, the track “Echoes Of You”. The new single was written about grief and loss after the passing of Kate’s mother and the overwhelming sadness that this huge initiation brought forward into her world.

Opening with a stripped back arrangement of Kate’s voice and piano, it sets an emotive tone which builds into a powerful electronic crescendo with James Mottershead and Jack Drewry on production duties. It’s cinematic and euphoric and hopes to convey a sense of not only pain through the difficulty of loss but also a sense of hope and expansion.
