Electronic singer-songwriter hailing from South Wales, HVNTER found his love for music uploading self-taught acoustic covers to YouTube at age 16, where he first began to cut his songwriting teeth. Over just three years, he’d racked up hundreds of thousands of views, before going on to release the well-received debut single “Blood”, gaining new fans and catching the attention of Alex Thompson, Managing Director of Clash Magazine and radio support from BBC Introducing.
He followed up “Blood” with his debut EP, Ghost, released to critical acclaim and cementing his name as an artist to watch in the synth pop scene. Not only dropping accomplished original music, he’s been perfecting his craft as a live performer too. The artist has performed with and supported touring artists Bright Light Bright Light, Into The Ark (BBC The Voice), Let’s Eat Grandma, Gabriel Garzon Montano, Tinchy Stryder and Chris Stark (BBC Radio 1), to name a few, as well as landing slots at Young Peoples Village and Truck Festival.
Now he returns with his sophomore EP release, You Don’t Know Love, an exceptional work of melodic pop writing and deep electronic instrumentation. Dark energies and beats flow, interspersed with delicate vocal delivery to create a fiercely catchy sound of modern pop.
With the lead title track “You Don’t Know Love”, HVNTER deals with the rejection and fear of coming out as a gay person. “I wrote this song after my coming out experience and seeing so many others like it, so I wanted to turn this experience around and create a queer anthem that embodies the shared experience so many queer people have and celebrate our freedom,” he comments.
The song, while heavier in subject, has an infectious melody and hook, along with a classic disco inspired
pop sound. Across the release, the artist offers a reflective journey of life, from the upbeat to the melancholy, all wrapped up in a constantly shifting electronic backdrop full of rhythm and adept vocal delivery.
