New York rockers Caleb Caming & The Heat have been making waves in America and beyond with their fiery, grunge and roots rock sound. They’ve been supported by radio all over the world and shared bills with the likes of Gary Clark Jr, Sheryl Crow, Suzanne Vega and Grace Vanderwaal. With their unapologetically stripped down approach, they opt for a sparse recording style over the high-production electronic version of rock that’s currently in fashion.
Frontman Caleb Caming’s interest in performing was first sparked after working as a roadie for a rockabilly band in upstate New York. After touring with the band internationally, he was subsequently interned at a blues and rock workshop run by the band’s lead singer.
Before working as a roadie for the band, Caleb would occasionally strum his acoustic guitar but he had very little interest in music. However, with the first hand experience of live music and the proximity to the energy on the stage he decided to commit himself to writing, singing and performing music.
After several years of performing blues, country and rock around New York, he decided to cultivate an edgier, more modern and aggressive sound and to help get there, bassist Devlin McDermott and drummer Bryan Framhein were enlisted to form Caleb Caming & The Heat. Dropping a handful of their demos online, they quickly found themselves in hot demand on the New York live music circuit.
Now they bring us one of their latest releases, with the high-octane cut “You’ve Got Me (in Agony)”, blending hook-driven 70’s style songwriting with the attitude and grit of 90’s grunge. Fiercely energetic, “You’ve Got Me (In Agony)” strikes the perfect balance of catchy vocals delivering angsty yet melodic lines with driving drums and crunching guitar work to create a worthy modern rock piece.
