Hailing from Prague, Czech Republic, Lakeside X are a synth pop outfit with 3 stellar LPs under their belt, over a career that spans 15 years together. With tweaks to the line up over time, the group is now set as a trio with members Janne Marvannen, Robert Broj and Igor Dvorsky offering vocals, keyboard and drums respectively.
Their dark and brooding cinematic sound evokes comparisons to acts such as Mesh, De/Vision and Depeche Mode. With their previous releases they’ve gained fans the world over and established themselves on the electronic scene.
Combining both melancholy and spirit, synth-based instrumentation with guitars, they deliver a dreamy sound that’s as emotive as it is euphoric. Frontman and composer Janne Marvannen offers crisp and stirring vocals, with his lyrics reflecting topics of loneliness, sadness, inner searching, love, lust, light and darkness.
With their latest release, they build on their catalogue of work to offer a sound that’s true to their style while also being forward-looking. The single “Fire In The Sky” demonstrates Lakeside X’s songwriting panache and their ability to craft a deep sonic tapestry.
Accompanied with two additional versions on the single release, a Club Mix and Radio Mix, the full release offers an expansion on their original composition.
