Pianist, composer and producer from Germany, Michael Koch has been playing the piano since just eight years old, joining his first band five years later. Since then he started composing and writing his own music music, cutting his teeth playing in groups with styles such as new jazz, hip-hop, pop and rock.
He went on to music while working in studios as a musician, composer, sound engineer and producer for other artists, bands, commercials, radio and television stations. Gradually the desire grew in him to create something new and to go back on stage himself with his own solo project, returning to the instrument that gives him the most joy.
Influenced by the likes of Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Esbjörn Svensson, Chilly Gonzalez, Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds, he aims to create music that weaves stories and dreams into our hearts. By the end of 2020 he had recorded his debut piano solo album in the Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg with Adrian von Ripka.
Following his first live performance for his latest endeavour in October, he now brings us the new release with the single “Enlighten Yourself”. This epic instrumental track offers a stunning atmospheric soundscape with a hearty feel and a catchy piano melody.
Spinning a hypnotic backdrop, he crafts a dreamy sonic journey featuring his piano work at the centre, supplemented with delicate synth fair. For Michael this song is the soundtrack to his journey into life, into the deep power of his soul.
