Instrumental indie band from Luxembourg, The Cookie Jar Complot is made up of musicians Sven Schmeler and Gilles Glesener. Together, they’ve been creating rhythmic guitar-based jams over the last two years, having both previously played and written for multiple acts in their country.
Their music blends dynamic grooves, post-rock soundscapes and intertwined guitar melodies to craft an instrumental sound you can move to. With their live performances, The Cookie Jar Complot round off their line up with Charel Baumann on bass and Miko Buraczyk on guitar.
Now the alt-rock duo bring us their debut EP, titled CAVIAR CAPITAL, filled with raucous indie, atmospheric post-rock and funk. The EP takes you from the singles “NEO”, a lush hooky banger to the dancy, crushing heights of “sweet dreams”. “TFO” is a trip to Indie’s guitar tapping at its finest while “Tides” has a no-nonsense opener, taking you to a roaring high chorus as closer.
Catchy pop writing is felt at the core of their sound, intertwined with the musicianship and structure of complex prog sensibilities. On CAVIAR CAPITAL, the band weave dreamy sonic landscapes underpinned by a hard hitting tapestry of guitar and drums to create a worthy and cohesive collection of instrumental work.
