Prolific Canadian composer Raynald Grenier has enjoyed a successful career as a pianist, conductor and music creator that spans four decades. He’s traveled all over North America and Europe as a performer before more recently focusing his talents on composing music for musicals, ballets and operas.
Having established himself as a world-class composer, the studio recordings of his music are stunning pieces of modern classical work. Inspired by classical music composers such as Mozart and Beethoven, and offering a rich cinematic sound, Raynald Grenier pens expansive instrumental pieces that make use of full orchestral arrangements.
With his 2020 album, Dolci Momenti, he delivered a blissful collection of calming and ambient style sounds across the nine original compositions. Following that up, he now brings us his latest album, titled Beth & Nao: The Ballet.
Ten new works of his compositional prowess are used to tell the story of Princess Beth, the beloved daughter of the King, who is madly in love with Noa, a young and handsome soldier in the King’s army. Putting the music to a captivating story, Raynald tells the tale of these two lovers in spectacular detail using a range of instrumentation to build tension, contrast and expressive melodic ideas.
For the musical arrangements, Raynald Grenier linked with conductor Gilles Léveillé who also lead the Global Studio Philharmonic Orchestra for the album.
