Based in Oakland, California, Mexican artist Shoefinger creates experimental music that flows through any genre he sets his sights on. With musical roots spanning a wide range of styles including rock, hip hop, cumbia, samba, jazz, techno, house, noise, and ambient, he fuses his diverse influences to create his own sound that drips with originality.
He’s recently released his latest album, titled Seré, which is a stunning showcase of his infinitely stretching sonic vision. Math rock and shifting rhythmic ideas form the bedrock of the music on his new release with the artist adding his own intricate guitar and synth work over the top.
An exquisite journey filtered through his innovative creative lens, with Seré, Shoefinger offers a record that challenges and engages the listener. Dynamic snapping beats provide a constantly evolving energy while his instrumental work weaves above in a mesmerising arrangement.
His album demonstrates his refusal to be boxed into one style, while the songs themselves confirm an artist with unique compositional ideas and perfect sound design abilities.
