Growing up in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, rap artist Yung Lano was exposed to music from an early age. With a father who was a DJ and an older brother who was also an artist and taught him how to rap, Lano Soprano was destined to have a music passion and creative flair.
Since stepping out on his own, he’s been making waves in the modern rap space with his unique blend of melodic vocal work, versatile flow and colourful instrumentation backdrops. He’s released a string of singles and dropped his debut album, titled Revenue II, in 2020. Emotive writing characterises his sound which is driven by snapping beats and wrapped up in touches of R&B.
Now he returns with the new single, “Slidin”, a smooth and catchy track that offers a melancholic vibe with a dark and pounding instrumental arrangement. Inspired by an emotionally charged concept of pain that reflects Yung Lano’s drive and hustle from where he first started to where he now stands, “Slidin” sees the artist open up to his listeners and offer a rare sense of honesty in his writing.
Yung Lano shows no sign of slowing down. With each release he pushes his sound and offers a new taste of his well-crafted style, always with rhythm-perfect vocal delivery. This year he’s throwing down a new track every month, each paired with stunning visuals, making him a go-to artist for fresh music over and over again.
