Singapore-based hip hop artist Sidd grew up learning classical and Indian styles of violin and piano. Drawing influence from the likes of Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kaytranada and J. Dilla, he gravitated towards rap and hip hop music and started his solo project in 2018.
Having played a string of shows in The Netherlands, he had to move back to Singapore at the start of the pandemic and deal with the challenges of establishing himself as an artist and performer during strict lockdown conditions.
Now he brings us his recent track “4 Tha Clouds”, a laid back hip hop cut that blends his DIY production aesthetic with old skool vibes. Written as an homage to the music that has come to change the world, with “4 Tha Clouds”, Sidd offers a tribute to the artists that inspired him.
Focusing on rhythm and rhyme, carried by hard hitting drums and capped with light instrumentation to give room to his vocals to flow, on his latest work he delivers a rap sound that’s entirely his.
