&Tilly is a couple in music and in life, based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Tilly is a poet, singer and melody-master while Vii is a multi-instrumentalist, music and video producer. Together they pair their talents to create a musical force that draws on their respective experiences and writing.
Casting aside aspirations of fame and riches, they create music for music’s sake, threading a rare sense of authenticity and originality in their sound. While the fluidity of their style makes it hard to box their music into normal genre categories, their dark-pop sensibilities blend synth-driven instrumentation with dark wave, experimental electronic and trip hop.
As introverted artists, most of their music sits in a melancholic context, exploring the sad and deeper aspects of life, with profound lyrical writing. Now they bring us their latest effort with the new track “Impress”, a dark and moody piece made in collaboration with a German producer Yan Hurd.
Coming straight from their hearts, “Impress” holds a mirror up to the shallow and superficial world of internet culture, mocking today’s ‘Insta-fame’ scene. A confrontation of their shy minds, the track squares their outlook with a world ruled by fake lives and feigned emotion. The poignant nature of its background demonstrates their ability to offer meaningful writing in a sound that full of captivating and colourful melodic work.
