Debut album from Radical West

Las-Vegas indie outfit Radical West was formed during the 2020 lockdowns by Cameron Dettman on vocals and guitar, lead guitarist Sawyer Schnieder, Spencer King on keys and a rhythm section of Zach Ellingson and Lonny Blank on drums and bass respectively. Originally, Sawyer and Cameron came together and began writing as a way to cope with the ongoing pandemic, going on to enlist the rest of the members to complete the band’s lineup.

At the core of their sound is an infectiously catchy indie pop vibe, full of grooving rhythms and touches of jazz. The relatively new act has been making waves in their local music scene, having been selected to perform at the Life Is Beautiful festival in Downtown Las Vegas.

A year after those initial creative sessions, the band began recording their debut album, the aptly titled One Year Later. Recorded with traditional production techniques in mind, they successfully captured the organic live sound of a full band gelled in the throes of an energetic performance.

To bring their songs to life, the band worked with renowned producer Robert Katz, whose previous credits include star acts such as Imagine Dragons, Madonna, Rhianna, Elton John, Celene Dion, The Killers and many others.

Across the ten original tracks, each member’s unique talents and performance panache is showcased on a worthy debut album that flows through a range of styles from R&B and Americana to funk, pop and alt rock all wrapped up in their melodic hook-driven writing.
