Toronto-based duo Soft Set is the songwriting collaboration between James Gray and Nathan Athay, two life-long friends who became musical partners years after growing up together. Offering deeply atmospheric, yet catchy dreamy soundscapes, their music lays down a glowing indie rock vibe shrouded in shimmering instrumentation.
With a new album, titled Still Life, lined up for release this summer, Soft Set bring us the first single from the forthcoming record with the new track “More More More”. Featuring the very best of their dream pop style, the new single is a stunningly melodic outing with the band’s authentic writing at its core.
Collaborating with Mark Crozer of The Jesus and Mary Chain on bass guitar and mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdrive) as SPS Mastering Studio in the UK, on “More More More” Soft Set deliver an ethereal indie anthem from a duo that are experts in crafting songs that leave you wanting more.
Commenting on the single, Nathan Athay shares, “‘More More More’ is about loneliness and how people generally cope and sometimes never find happiness. Most of the time, life doesn’t have Hollywood endings and you should cherish what you have and not waste precious time looking for things you don’t.”
