UK artist ear candy offers exactly what it says on the tin; delightful indie pop music that any listener can get behind. The solo project of producer and singer-songwriter Jamie Jordan, with ear candy he shares rhythmic pop jams that sound like the inappropriate love child of Dayglow and Panic! At The Disco.
As a new artist, he’s just setting out with his first tracks but has an exciting year of releasing music ahead. He brings us his debut single, the fresh song “over you”. A soundtrack of how he would constantly allow himself to be led on by girls that were no good for him, the situations would leave him stuck getting over them with no one to blame but himself.
Full of infectiously catchy vocal hooks delivered by his lofty vocals and a shimmering arrangement of ambient guitar work, with “over you” he lays down a stellar debut release that shows an artist with lots to offer.
Commenting on the single, he shares, “I wrote over you when I was at a point where I kept falling for girls that I knew were no good for me. Even though all the signs were there telling me they were just gonna lead me on, I still let myself fall.”
Adding, “As soon as I showed too much interest they’d leave me hanging and it would be me having to get over someone I never really had again. The time when you are ‘together’ is really fun and I wanted to portray that musically with the bounciness but the lyrics show those sadder undertones.”
