Alternative country duo JANA & JORGE formed in 2019 when Izquierdo stumbled across Jana’s music online and was instantly captivated by her emotive and expressive vocals. A songwriter from an early age, Izquierdo happened to be on the look out for a singer who could bring his heartfelt songs to life when he first heard Jana’s work and out of that, JANA & JORGE was born.
Jana herself is also an accomplished songwriter and has had her songs placed on popular TV shows like “Empire” and “Dance Moms.” Despite the geographic distance – Jana is based in New York while Izquierdo’s home is in Peru – they make use of the technology of today to be able to collaborate as if they were in the same room. With their respective talents as writers and musicians, they both add their own artistic flair to the project.
Now they share their latest work with the single “Time Goes Fast”, a blend of jazz, rock, soul and pop that pairs Jana’s evocative vocal work to the backdrop of Izquierdo’s poignant songwriting. Spinning a beautiful melody-focused sound, with “Time Goes Fast” they deliver a worthy indie sound that demonstrates the best of the pair’s writing and performance abilities.
