Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, indie rock outfit Principe Valiente is a four-piece group fronted by singer Fernando Honorato. Their sound features Honorato’s warm and soaring vocals at the forefront, carrying the stunning melodies of their writing over a post punk energy that bends from the frantic to the atmospheric.
Delivering catchy and well-crafted indie anthems, they’ve been releasing music to a fan base that eagerly awaits each new work from the band. Four years after their acclaimed album Oceans, Principe Valiente are back with a brand new full-length titled Barricades, their first album released on American label Metropolis Records.
Featuring ten beautifully written new songs, the new album picks up where they left off, continuing their dramatic soundscape offering. As their most intimate and personal release to date, the songs have grown more out of melodies and chords rather than guitar riffs this time.
With his lyricism, Honorato has sought new paths, in a dark and sometimes desperate tone, there is always a streak of hope with a yearning desire felt in his vocal tones. From the opening title track to the album closer “This Buried Love”, on their latest work Principe Valiente share an epic sonic journey delivered by a band at the very top of their game.
