South Carolina native Trey Duncan has already had a rich musical journey, from studying music at Furman University, singing in choirs and gracing stages with his band Kings Ransome. Growing up in a musical family, it’s no surprise that songwriting and performing have been his dream from an early age.
From his parents he gained a love for the energy of the great rock outfits such as Def Leppard, AC/DC and Stevie Ray Vaughan, which he paired with a passion for authentic and elegant songwriters like Billy Joel, Lionel Richie and Dolly Parton. After winning the open mic competition at Smiley’s Acoustic Cafe in Greenville, South Carolina in 2018, Trey has gone on to captivate audiences at various venues and with his band, opened for artists Neil Zaza, Brobot and guitar virtuoso Michael Angelo Batio.
Now as a solo artist, he brings us his debut release on his new adventure with the single “Ten Track Heart”, a country rock inspired outing. Discovered by Off The Row Studio, who were won over by Trey’s soulful vocals and blown away by his charisma, the artist was linked up with producer P.T. Houston who brought the sound to life.
Performed with the best session players Nashville has to offer, “Ten Track Heart” offers a strong Tennessee sound mixed with rock n’ roll to deliver an instantly catchy and grooving debut solo single from an accomplished musician.
Commenting on the single, Trey Duncan shares, “Ten Track Heart is about having many passions and being pulled in many different directions, and I’ve reckoned with that feeling my entire life – be it church, school, or work.”
Adding, “This song was about four years in the making, and has seen many versions, but I’m happy to say with the help of the Off the Row team I finally got it right. I feel like this mirrors where I’m at in my artistry as well. I did my time exploring my artistic influences and playing with many excellent musicians, but I’ve finally come into my own with this song and my upcoming releases.”
