Folk Rock from Nero Simon and the Sunsetters

Hailing from the city of Atlanta, the story of Nero Simon and the Sunsetters originally begins in Latin America with immigrant parents. Born in New York City, raised in Fort Lauderdale in Florida, Nero would spend his teenage summers wandering the marinas in the Florida Keys, taking in the coatal nature around him.

With his band, The Sunsetters, he offers his bright and airy songs about love and adventure that take influence from the vintage soft rock classics of the 70s and 80s, while remaining modern and relevant to his fans of today. The outfit blends nostalgic pop/rock sounds with modern rock n roll energy and Latin rhythms to offer their entirely original style of music.

Not just a musician, Nero is also the founder of the new Holla Yella Music Festival, which debuted last summer 2021 in the Georgia Mountains. Later this year he’s looking to expand the festival for even more fans and celebrate music with performing artists such as Old Crow Medicine Show, The Infamous Stringdusters and Sierra Ferrell.

As a relatively new band, Nero Simon has recently picked out some sensational Atlanta musicians to join his act and complete the lineup. The project is already demonstrating their cohesiveness and knack for bringing joyous and breezy compositions to life with their musicianship.

The new album, titled Treasure Chest, shows the true potential of this collection of accomplished artists. Recorded and produced in Atlanta along with carious beach spots along 30A, the album is the culmination of years of Nero’s writing and sonic vision. The aptly titled album is in fact its own treasure chest of wonderful soft rock songs full of catchy writing and colourful instrumentation, all wrapped by Nero’s impeccable vocal work.
