French band GmBt Life is a trio formed by musicians Aleksi Mäkelä, Timo Zwandun and Nabim Fieev. The three of them all come from different countries and backgrounds, and live in diverse regions, coming together routinely to play music whenever they can.
With their creative process, they start out with a bare melody then improvise with various instruments and computers to form full songs. Keeping the DIY approach at the core of their process, they compose, perform, record, mix and produce all their music as well as making all their own visuals and videos to accompany the tracks.
Drawing influence from the 60s and 70s as well as the nineties music scene, many have commented that their music is a blend of the Western way of expression and the Eastern way of thought. Their sound is characterised by their alternative indie rock writing, full of deep sonic atmosphere and melodic vocal leads.
They’ve just released their debut album, the ten track full-length called 10 Minutes. On the new record they offer the very best of their creative vision, demonstrating their all-round musicianship and production abilities. From the opener “No Abstract Thought” to the album closer “Come Closer”, they share a dreamy journey through their ethereal indie sound that offers reflective writing and captivating instrumentation.
