Kevin Walsh releases “Embrace The World”

Singer, songwriter, musician and actor Kevin Walsh has had a passion for the creative arts from an early age, signing before he could even talk. The Cork-based artist graduated from MTU (formerly CIT) Cork School of Music with first class honours undergrad and master’s degrees while pursuing his dream of working in every facet of the music industry.

At the age of five, Kevin was diagnosed as autistic and as such has faced many challenges in his journey to becoming a professional musician. Overcoming those hurdles and demonstrating unmatched determination and self-belief, he brings us his debut single, titled “Embrace The World”, a feat he terms as “a gesture of hope for autism awareness in the community for Ireland and beyond.”

The single is released in benefit of AsIAm, Ireland’s leading Autism charity run by Adam Harris, with  50% of all proceeds from the single and its related merchandise will be donated towards the charity. Debuting on the Irish iTunes Singles Charts and the Irish iTunes Rock Charts at #1 as well as the Top 20 of the Irish Homegrown Charts within two days of release, the single has made an explosive introduction for the artist.

Inspired by some of Kevin’s favourite musical theatre ensemble numbers, the symphonic ballad “Embrace The World” features rock undertones and a range of vocal styles. Enlisting the talents of featured vocalists such as Emma Langford, Ger O’Hanlon, Lisa Curran, Molly Lynch, Rebecca Houlihan, Stephen Gormley, Caroline Kay and Mark Daly, the debut single is lifted to joyous heights as a celebration of diversity in music.

Commenting on the arrangement, Kevin shares, “By embracing widely different vocal styles within our super group performance, I wanted to allude to the variety within Autistic diagnoses, as each person on the spectrum is an individual with different support needs and ranges of abilities.”
