Houston-based artist Bowen Thi (who used to be known as just ‘Bowen’) is a Chinese-American artist who began his multi-genre musical journey in his high school choir. Around that time, he also discovered the music production software FL Studio and started to produce music for the first time.
Since then he’s gone on to launch a stellar music career, racking up hundreds of thousands of streams and opening up for artists such as Hotel Ugly and Deniz Love. Influenced by the likes of James Blake, Beach House, Joji, Mac Miller and Kitaro, he crafts his own unique psychedelic pop sound.
Now he’s teamed up with producer Hieloways on his most recent work, the new single “Ain’t My Fault”. Sonically dark and energetic, the pair have built a deep sound that pays homage to 80s synth wave music whilst also offering something entirely new.
The song focuses on mental deterioration following a heartbreak, with a yearning desire for a time when everything was bliss. Blending an atmospheric sonic tapestry with melodically-charged vocal work, the new single expresses emotion that’s tied to toxicity. Released ahead of the artist’s highly anticipated EP titled godspeed, Bowen Thi sets the tone of what’s to come for an artist on the rise.
