Hailing from the city of Portland in Oregon, Mo Douglas is the multi-instrumentalist artist who also heads up the Ten Dollar Recording Co. imprint. A master of crafting immersive jams that float between various genres such as psych, funk, soul, dub, jazz and garage rock, the one common thread across his compositions is a constant groove.
Holding rhythm at the core of his sound, the artist spins kaleidoscopic sonic tapestries that draw you in with their creativity and leave you wanting more. With an astonishing back catalogue of music, the prolific composer and musician has seemingly endless musical ideas and the vision and talent to mould them into engaging recorded songs.
One of his recent tracks is the perfect example of Mo Douglas doing what he does best. Following on from last year’s album Fry The Onion Gently, the single titled “The Most Expensive Restaurant In Portland” delivers an infectious surf rock sound brimming with rhythm and dripping in psychedelic vibes.
A steady rock n roll beat carries the energy as his lead guitar work twangs out intriguing melodic lines. Throwing down a truly hypnotic sound, the track captures the aura of a Tarantino film while demonstrating Mo Douglas’ craft as a musician as well as a composer of epic instrumental tunes.
