Artist Kane ile offers something entirely new. Hailing from Bern in Switzerland, the experimental artist explores the edges of popular music to create his own fiercely original sound. Drawing influence from pioneering acts such as Bon Iver, James Blake and Frank Ocean, Kane ile primarily uses his voice to carry his distinct writing.
Featuring introspective and vulnerable lyrics, he fuses his voice amongst a sonic tapestry of raw synthetic and acoustic sounds. His debut single “Dancing” offered the perfect statement from the artist who blends genres and styles to let his pure sonic vision flow freely.
Now he brings us the follow up with his second single titled “Wily”, a title that acts as an acronym for When I Let You. Delivering a minimal and heavily reduced sound, his reflective and fragile lyrics are given room to breathe in an infinitely expansive spacey world.
The experimental pop ballad dwells on vulnerability, self deception and mistrust in anyone who attempts at opening up. The sparse arrangement adds a dreamy atmospheric sound with Kane ile’s vocal work soaring close and far by design to create a floaty and disorienting listening experience that’s both soothing and captivating. The single was recorded in the artist’s bedroom studio, then mixed with the help of artist and composter Milian Mori and mastered by the Paris-based sound engineer Simon Lancelot.
