Hailing from Birmingham, UK, Lucky Number You is an alternative rock pop outfit that makes infectious music by blending guitars, synths and hook-driven vocal leads. The three-piece band takes influence from the timeless pop and rock classics of the 80s and 90s while putting their own modern spin on the style to create a sound that’s entirely their own.
The band first started two years ago as a studio project, with their main aim to be to push themselves creatively to create a full LP while locked down in their home studios. Using the pandemic and forced isolation that came with it as a period of productivity, they emerged as a new act with bags of material.
Having exploded on to the scene earlier this year with their debut single “Disassociator” followed by their sophomore offering “Clown World Rises”, they made a statement that they’re hear to make upbeat music that sticks with you for days. Showing now sign of slowing down, they’ve recently dropped their first full-length release with the debut album “Aftercare”.
The eleven track record delivers a thrilling ride through a charming alternative pop world. Each track as instantly catchy as the last, they cover themes from the struggle to find your place in the modern world, feelings of solitude and inadequacy to government instigated social division.
Mastered by Tom Woodhead at Hippocratic Mastering, Aftercare is sure to delight any fans of bands such as The Cure, LCD Soundsystem, The 1975, Tears for Fears and Manic Street Preachers. Across their debut album, Lucky Number You demonstrate their accomplished songwriting talents and performance panache on an astonishing first full-length effort.
