Multi-instrumentalist Shirin Ghoujalou is behind the dream pop project, Errunhrd. Her album focuses on meditation and relaxation through a combination of intimate vocals and ambient sounds. “Ruminate (Meditate)” is the perfect match to a 4-minute break from life or played through headphones to unwind after a workout.
You can find “Ruminate (Meditate)” on Shirin’s debut album You can be you, I can be me. Shirin describes the track as an escape to “meditate instead of worry”, this mantra is carried throughout the album as a way to ruminate less and to be in control of your innermost thoughts.
As a solo creative Shirin produces, sings and songwrites all her music. Her melancholic vocals and retro-sounding synths are relaxing and breathtaking. The perfect track to slowly take you into meditation followed by the rest of her album.
Finding a belonging in the dream pop genre she is heavily influenced by experimental synth pop bands New Order and Grimes. She describes “Ruminate (Meditate)” as a reminder of feeling in control of her occasional anxious thoughts.
The album You can be you, I can be me is a refection of her intimate emotions of anxiety and the album is her fix. Her harmonic take to dream pop unwinds daily angst and clears the mind. Errunhrd for Shirin is her attempt to “find a place in the world” and is a beautiful project to watch the journey through anxiety to tranquility.
