Singer, songwriter and producer A.B. Violet makes stunning ethereal soundscapes that bend from ambient to dream pop. Based in Southend-on-Sea in the UK, she draws influence from the likes of London Grammar, Caribou, Massive Attack, Annie Lennox as well as house music in general to craft her own unique sound.
Since making her debut last year with the single “Only Need Me”, she’s gone from strength-to-strength with each new release as she develops her sound and artistic vision. Gaining radio airtime on stations such as BBC Essex Introducing, Unsigned with Matt Wherry and European Indie Music Network, her music has been well-received by tastemakers and fans alike.
Now she returns with a new EP, titled EQUINOX which sees the artist once again link with the Essex-based producer who collaborated on ELEMENCE. Featuring three original tracks, the new EP demonstrates how far A.B. Violet has come as a composer, with rich sonic tapestries being carried by her delicate vocal delivery on songs that spin vivid stories.
From the intricate dreamy opening track “Pedal to the Metal”, through the uplifting beat-driven “Rain” to the emotive closing song “Wasting Time”, A.B. Violet shares a blissful journey on a worthy EP from an exciting artist on the rise.
