Bedroom pop duo POLYDRIVE is comprised of brothers Cam and Cole Tessier who have been making music together for the last decade. Over the last couple of years they’ve started to share the fruits of their musical partnership and have dropped a string of well-received singles, racking up hundreds of thousands of streams already.
Taking influence from artists such as Phil Collins, Jon Bellion, blink-182, Tame Impala, Frank Ocean, POLYDRIVE create their own unique style that blends elements of indie, pop, rock and punk. As true bedroom pop artists, they write, record and produce all their music in their bedroom studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During the pandemic, the pair had to sell a bunch of their music gear, including their electric guitars. However, for their latest track they knew they needed some grungey guitar tones on the song and so purchased a cheap electric guitar online for $59 to use.
That new track, their latest single titled “By My Side” sees the duo lay down the best of their DIY punk pop sound and demonstrates their resourcefulness in producing a track that’s both shiny and catchy with a shoe-string budget. Marking a new chapter in their artistic journey, “By My Side” is the first unveiling of their new and refined sound.
Written as an expression of love and gratitude for someone who’s stuck by your side through thick and thin, with their latest effort, POLYDRIVE deliver an instant indie pop hit from an exciting new band that’s a must watch going forward.
