Formed earlier this year, PantherWolfe is the new project from artist and producer Gerard Dondero. Taking influence from the likes of Justice, Tommy 86, Depeche Mode, LazerHawk, Jordan F, the artist’s goal with the PantherWolfe alias is to offer a minimal and pure synth-based experience.
The project as a whole has storyline concepts that tell the musical tale of homicide detective Jericho Panther and undercover narco cop Damien Wolfe as they battle a dangerous new gang in the fictitious city of El Vegas.
With his music, the modwave artist delivers an engaging exploration of synthesiser work via energetic electro compositions. Since venturing out on the new endeavour, PantherWolfe has already released an astonishing amount of music, with over 40 singles, a full album and an EP already shared this year alone.
Now he brings us one of his latest works with the recent single “Arcade Wizard”. Created as an ode to someone we all remember; the local pro at the Arcade who could drop jaws with his gaming panache, the track is a spacey soundtrack to that character’s talent.
With the first two minutes following the gamer as they strut into the arcade, cutting through the other players and getting ready, the second half of the track mirrors his arcade prowess as he wows the crowds and wins them over. Using an impressive array of synth sounds and textures, PantherWolfe builds up a thrilling electronic piece that confirms the excitement around this prolific new artist.
