Formed by producer Everett Young and songwriter CS Taber, Chucky Trading Co creates timeless new folk-rock songs that are fuelled by the musical resonance of Laurel Canyon. There are 15 moving songs on the debut CTC album, which was released on December 1, 2021.
These songs examine core life aspects, such as life, death, romance, existence, and human nature. From Grace’s opening riff, to the tambourine’s rattlesnake shake on “Tumbleweeds”, Chucky Trading Co creates heartfelt compositions, enchanted tunes, and visuals that reach deep inside you.
CS Taber draws on a diverse spectrum of influences and experiences for his music. Taber performs to a wide variety of musical textures, having grown up in the rich acoustic traditions of Appalachia after spending his early years immersed in the spirits and rhythms of Central and West Africa.
His compositions fuse the emotional profundity and force of counterculture poets from the 1960s to the present with the deceptively straightforward folk, rock, and pop genres. With his songs, Taber creates narratives and visuals about timeless and contemporary issues.
Florida’s Tallahassee is home to contemporary composer Everett Young, who lives to compose excellent music that evokes strong emotions in his audiences and subsequently sets intended moods. He has composed scores for independent feature films, animated movies, and documentaries, and has experimented with jazz-influenced pop sounds as a vocalist, songwriter, and producer since the early 1990s.
“What I Want” is a wonderful group harmony, taking its audience on the very unique emotional rollercoaster that one can only truly experience following a painful break-up. Certain listeners may detect the Traveling Wilburys in the harmonies and lyrics, whilst some may relate to a 60s undertone in the guitar jangle. When taking the extensive musical experience of its creators into account, it is a composition that guarantees to provide you with an emotional and immersive experience.
