Hailing from the Swedish capital of Stockholm, Hallbeck has been involved in all sorts of music projects over the years from working as a technician, producing music, writing songs and even owning a record label several years ago. In the 90s he toured all over the world with an alternative band and played in the Soviet Union in its final days, witnessing the crumbling in St. Petersburd, then known as Leningrad, when the tanks rolled in during the coup attempt against Gorbachev.
More recently, he’s ventured out as a solo artist under the Hallbeck name after finding his own voice. His writing focuses on creating songs that he hopes will touch on all things that make us human, with Hallbeck’s ethos of not wanting to fit in to the endless cycle of producing and consuming, striving for a more fulfilling way to live.
Making his introduction as a solo act, he’s just released his debut single titled “Dagarna med dig”. The song is a tribute to those moments when everything just works and feels right, about taking advantage of moments that bring joy and happiness, as well as being a touching homage to his beloved Ellen.
Written about finding love, “Dagarna med dig” offers an optimistic message that it’s never too late to find someone to share your life with; happiness is out there, you just need to dare to find it. Offering a joyous and uplifting indie rock sound, Hallbeck’s smooth and soaring vocals carry beautiful melodies on a worthy debut effort that channels the brilliant songwriting and polished sound of bands like Elbow.
