Hailing from Devon in the southwest of the UK, multi-instrumentalist Nick Cheshire makes spacey alternative rock and dream pop music under the Indigo Daydream alias. After the artist suffered a head injury during lockdown and while laying in an MRI being scanned, the surreal beat of the machine sparked the thought of creating something positive from the arduous experience and thus the Indigo Daydream project was born.
With a mission to create music that invokes the sense of waking up from a dream, Indigo Daydream spins washy sonic tapestries of atmospheric guitars, ethereal synth arrangements and samples paired with profound lyricism. Full of deep textures and blissful melodic leads, his music offers a mesmerising and transportive listening experience.
Having dropped a string of well-received singles over the last year as he delivers his expressive creative vision, he’s recently shared his latest work with the new single “Slow Down”. With nods to the pioneering work of David Bowie, the song is written about the awe-inspiring journey we all make through space on planet Earth.
Capturing a celestial sound to reflect the context of the lyrics, with “Slow Down”, Indigo Daydream offers a stunning and hypnotic soundscape that’s both immersive and captivating. Fuzzed out guitar lines carry the tone as the artist’s lullaby vocals soar delicately above, culminating in a peaceful and thought-provoking piece of beautiful music.
Commenting on the new single, he shares, “Inspired by David Bowie’s Space Oddity, ‘Slow Down’ is a song about perspective and the surreal nature of time.”
