Canadian-born and British Columbia-based singer and songwriter Mark Rosal cites Van Morrison, Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley as some of his major musical motivations. Each of Mark’s songs honours a distinct narrative, an insightful examination of the world around us, and a thorough reflection on life’s journey.
Mark is continuously improving on his musical skills, whether it be by writing down lyrics or producing samples and loops that may one day go on to be key components in future song releases. He has been exploring himself in psychotherapy for a long time and his poetic and emotive lyrics are often symbolic of his efforts in this area.
Mark’s main drive for composing songs has always been his sincere love of the music itself, which gives him a perfectly suited platform to passionately deliver his stories and messages through the medium of beautiful song.
Mark’s latest production is “Song for Ellen”, a cleverly written and extremely enjoyable song. Driven by an intimate acoustic and supplemented with a passionate poetry, this song is a sentimental mix of powerful guitar and delicate piano, perfectly demonstrating Mark’s soft, calm and appealing nature and his ability to deliver it innately well through his music.
