Award-winning music producer Simon Shackleton is back with his new release, “Oplot”. The renowned DJ has been in the music scene for over 25 years and has worked with the likes of Fatboy Slim and Moby and has performed at iconic clubs and festivals such as Glastonbury and the Burning Man. Also on screen he has written music for high grossing movies such as Spider-man and The Matrix.
The anticipated wait for his latest mix comes after Canadian outfit Object 22 approached Simon with evocative samples from a Ukrainian operative recording that inspired him. He then set out to create his own interpretations. His aims for 2022 is on creating a series of deeply evocative pieces of emotive electronica or ‘cinematica’ which explores the process from sleeping to being awake.
Simon has successfully mentored upcoming artists and has managed three award-winning record labels so the release of “Oplot” is an invigorating venture of the roots of where Simon fell inlove with music.
His new cinematic mix evokes emotive tones and creates an ambient feel. His use of string and melodic content is a brooding piece of broken beat electronica.
