Alt-pop duo The Astronomers are back with another dance-inducing, sunny injection of fun, with the release of “Like The Holidays”. The Fond du Lac duo includes Ben Baker and Michael Stensland, who are always coming up with innovative ways to push the boundaries of alt-pop with their creative fusion of components.
“Overthinking”, the lead track from the duo’s sophomore EP Guess It’s Just Life, garnered a lot of airplay on Wisconsin radio, notably 101.1 WIXX, where it peaked at #1 on the Top Nine At 9. The album features AJR-reminiscent booming brass passages, Quinn XCII’s forceful vocals, and passions of Jon Bellion.
“Like The Holidays” is a rush of endorphins with its catchy synth hooks, jovial horns, and sweet vocals, and urges listeners to move aside their worries and live every day like it is indeed a holiday. The duo have confessed to always being so excited for holidays, such as Christmas or the 4th July, because it was always something magical and fun to look forward to.
This song will take you through a journey of little problems and quickly make you realise that they are not meant to be worried about. The message with The Astronomers is as clear as it is always expertly delivered: enjoy the time you have, and live every day like they are the holidays.
