Nashville-based indie rock artist Paul Vinson offers a sense of sonic intimacy in his honest and authentic songwriting. Originally born and raised in a small farm town in Florida, he yearned to bring to life his creative vision and moved to the Tennessee capital of music to pursue his artistic dreams.
Inspired by the music of artists such as Dawes and The Killers, he also draws on his classic rock roots when creating his own sound. “My goal has always been to write songs I like,” he shares.
This autumn will see Paul Vinson release his debut full-length with the upcoming album titled Tunnel Vision. Featuring nine new original tracks, with his forthcoming record, Paul Vinson will bring dark details to light, offering his personal musical rationalisation and coming to terms with mental illness. On the album, he comments, “For the first time in my life I am just purely excited – I have never sat with a project this long and still enjoyed every inch of it.”
In his typical style, he lays bare his raw emotions and packages them in his unique sound, carried by his smooth and soulful vocals carrying his poignant lyricism via stunning and memorable melodies. Following the release of the album’s lead single “Drama Queen”, the artist now brings us the second single lifted from the record with “Keep Up”.
Linking up with fellow Nashville native Bryce Bubray, from the indie band Future Crib, to produce the track with mixing handled by Bobby Knepper of Dreamer Boy, with “Keep Up”, Paul Vinson lays down an elegant indie folk outing that both stirs emotions and captivates with its charming sound.
Paul penned the song after leaning that a former classmate of his had tragically taken his own life and with his cathartic musical realisation of his conflicting thoughts, he delivers a beautiful piece of meaning and grace.
