New album from Mountain Town

Hailing from Park City in Utah, Mountain Town is a country music outfit that offer what they describe as ‘acoustic music from the American West’. Led by Dr. Jon, who has over two decades of experience as a performing musician, Mountain Town combine elements of country, bluegrass and folk music to create their own unique style of timeless Americana.

Dr. Jon’s musical journey started at the tender age of just six years old when he started classical training on the piano and learning Flamenco guitar. In high school and University, he played in bands and worked as a session musician in order to pay for his dental school education, leading to a career that would earn him his nickname as he continued his sonic endeavours.

Mountain Town was born out of the vibrant live music scene of Park City, with the group going on to open up shows for Arlo Guthrie and share the stage with The Kingston at their Scottsdale Arizona Music Festival. They’ve also jammed with the great Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young as well as Ramblin’ Jack Elliot at the Sundance Festival, while their studio releases have received extensive radio support.

Now they bring us their most ambitious release to date with their debut album, titled Far From Home. Laying down sounds that stem from the traditions of the American West, the band writes about common struggles that many people encounter, creating a sense of relatability and connection in their songs.

With nine new Mountain Town tracks, the album Far From Home features stripped-back works produced at NashVox recordings in Nashville, as well as stunning full-layered productions crafted by London imprint The Animal Farm Music. Across the debut album, Mountain Town draw on their vast experience and talent as musicians to create a captivating first full-length release that offers a beautiful listening experience from start to finish.
