Synth Pop from DJ Moderno

Hailing from the Spanish capital of Madrid, DJ Moderno is a DJ, producer and musician who’s been making remixes of indie bands from all over the world for the last few years. In his home city, he’s become a staple of the night life scene, playing regular slots at venues such as Moby Dick, Barco, Contraclub Siroco, 4 Latas, Perro and Mercado de Motores.

As well as playing frequently in Madrid, he also travels to other cities for shows and has shared the booth with the best DJs in the country at festivals such as FIB, Sonorama and Easy Pop Weekend. However, it was in 2020 that the artist began to write and produce his own material, releasing it under his own name.

After dropping a string of well-received singles and remixes, this year has seen him release his debut full-length album of original material with the record titled La Nave Nodriza. Featuring nine singles published in advance over the preceding months as well as two previously unreleased cuts, his new album offers the very best taste of his beat-driven electronic sound, full of upbeat energy and catchy writing.

Lifted from the album comes the second single from the release with the track “Tus Ojos”, meaning ‘your eyes’ in English. Carried by a bouncing rhythm and lifted by an electronic base of instrumentation, with “Tus Ojos”, DJ Moderno delivers a grooving electro pop piece. Written about a toxic relationship and a night that turns sour, the single lays down a driving energy, wrapped up in a catchy synth pop sound.
