Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Jack Lewins is a self taught multi-instrumentalist and producer who makes music under the Jakliu moniker. The artist captures the relatable feelings of stagnation and instability of early adulthood via his transportive electronic style of delicate rhythms and bright melodic instrumentation.
Taking influence from artists such as Caribou, Four Tet and Mano Le Tough, Jakliu he crafts a piquant sound that squares off melancholic vibes with warm and upbeat sonic textures all wrapped up in exquisite sound design.
Unveiling the project last year, he shared the debut Jakliu single with “All Cash, No Love” and first showcased his unique creative vision with the world. Now he’s back this year with a new tack, sharing with us his sophomore single titled “Bluey Orange”.
Laying down a vibrant tapestry of rhythmic instrumental shots, playful organic percussion and intricate vocal pips, with “Bluey Orange”, Jakliu delivers a delightful summer jam. Written about “the art of staying
grounded in your own mind, while the world races past,” with his second effort, the artist shares an engaging laid back electronic outing that further shows his talents as a composer and knack for creating elegant and original music.
