New album from Sun Deep

Born in India, now based in Oklahoma City since 2006, Sun Deep is an electronic producer who creates captivating and immersive beat-driven soundscapes. Drawing on his international upbringing, he brings a uniquely global perspective to the lo-fi underground hip hop scene, using his music to weave themes of identity, love and self-care, threading deep stories into his hypnotic compositions.

One half of the multi-lingual rap duo Finite Galaxy, he uses that project to vocalise his viewpoint with lyricism delivered exclusively in Hindi. With his solo music as Sun Deep, he spins engaging landscapes wrapped up in his exquisite sound design, that blends punchy beats with touches of eastern melodic leads and instrumentation.

Making his introduction as Sun Deep in 2020, he released his debut single titled “Hometown” and has since dropped a string of well-received singles, EPs and albums that showcase his unique sonic vision and confirm his talent as a prolific composer and producer. Now bringing us his latest work, he’s recently released a new record with Quarantined Thoughts, an eleven track instrumental hip hop masterpiece.

Packed full of grooving beats and a vibe that sees an old school hip hop sound collide with piquant touches of intriguing instrumental tones and forward-thinking composition, Quarantined Thoughts sits as Sun Deep’s magnum opus. Seamlessly flowing from one piece to the next, Sun Deep spins a perfectly crafted sound that captures delicate, ambient and mesmeric moments to energising rhythms on an album that challenges the status quo of the style via an exceptionally original work you just can’t help but love.
