Hailing from the city of Liverpool in the UK, K I T is a rising artist who’s living up to the rich history of music the city has become synonymous with. Born into a musical family he was always destined to tread a sonic path, his second cousin was a member of the 60s outfit The Yardbirds – a band immortalised in the rock music story by hosting three of the greatest guitarists at various times in Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page – and his father spent weekends playing live in the local pubs and social clubs.
Since picking up a guitar when he was fourteen years old, he’s been passionate about making his own music, going on to study songwriting and performance at the renowned Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Immersing himself in a network of talented writers and studios and taking influence from artists such as Lauv, Troye Sivan and Jack Antonoff he crafted his own unique sonic vision which he unveiled in 2020 with his debut single “Warm”.
With his first song, he linked up with Grammy winner Joe Laporta, who’s previous credits include (Lizzo, Sam Fender and Yungblood, to master the track which introduced his uplifting and soulful folk rock sound. Followed up with two further singles which featured on his debut four-track EP Close Up released last year, this year he’s returned with his latest work and brings us his new single titled “When We Say Goodbye”.
Co-written by Mike Halls of Clean Cut Kid, on his latest single, K I T looks to his musical roots of the 70s to combine timeless songwriting with a shiny modern sound. Full of gentle grooves and dazzling lead vocal melodies, with “When We Say Goodbye” K I T delivers a captivating new song on his exciting musical journey as he continues to deliver his thoroughly enjoyable sound.
